New member from Chicago

Hello BiggerPockets!

I bought my first properly in late 2012 - a three flat on a double lot in the Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago. I moved into one unit, renovation another, and for the last year have been fortunate enough to have a fully occupied building with great tenants.

I'm now beginning to explore opportunities for my next deal. I was originally looking into another three flat, but after hanging around BP, I've become curious about other types of deals as well and interested in learning more.

I'm excited to join the BP community and look forward to learning, teaching and making connections in Chicago and beyond!

BP is the best place to learn about RE.

Congrats on your first deal. Irving Park is a great area and you will never have any problems keeping the place rented there.

I learned everything about RE at BP and it has worked out great for me so far. I have made great connections at BP.

Welcome @Joey Nakayama I too just found BP a few months ago. I am a buy and hold investor with properties in Portage Park, Albany Park and North Center.

I am in the same boat as you, before we decide to buy another 3 flat we have been looking at other investment opportunities. You can PM me if you want and I can send you some of the stuff I have found so far. A bunch of us from BP got together a few weeks ago and networked and I learned about a few new opportunities.

Welcome @Joey Nakayama I probably don't have to tell you this, but you made an excellent and not to mention a very smart move by acquiring a property and moving into one of the units. Also I agree with @Sharad M. Irving Park is a very nice neighborhood and I'm not surprised that you have kept it occupied.

I like your ambition to explore new investment opportunities and for joining the BP community! Congrats on the property and I wish you all the luck in your future investments. BP is a great place to gain knowledge regarding new investments and strategies from all kinds of savvy investors.

The last meeting was couple of weeks ago and was a great success, we had about 20 people come and I know I made great contacts through that networking event.
