Welcome @Immanuel Sibero to the BP community.

I'm an investor and Realtor with Keller Williams in Allen. My focus is on Collin County and Northern Dallas County. Let me know if you have any questions about these markets within the DFW Metroplex.

A couple of recommendations:

  • Check out the information under the 'Learn' tab above. In particular the how-to guides and the podcasts.
  • Explore the forums for topics that interest you. You can also set up keyword searches fro these topics.
  • There are several local BP meetup groups in DFW.
  • I attend the North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors monthly meetings (www.ntarei.com). There is a cost to attend these metings, but it a good place to meet other local investors and vendors.

Good luck!

Welcome @Andrew Philip.

There are lots of ways to learn on this site. First look at the 'Learn' tab above. There are lots of free how-to guides. You might want to start with "The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to REI." Also set up keyword alerts for topics of interest to you. you can find past postings under the "Forums" tab.

Good luck.

Welcome @George Morwood.

You might want to set up keyword searches for topics and areas you are interested in seeing what others are discussing. The Forum tab above is also useful. You can look for local BP meetup groups there or do a search for them.

If you are not aware of it, the North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (www.ntarei.com) meets monthly and has other educational opportunities throughout the month. This is a good place to network with some local investors and vendors.

Good luck.

@Jordan Decuir

I think it is a very good idea to have a licensed electrician look at the electrical system and make recommendations. You will have to call around for pricing.

You might be interested in looking at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission report 516 - "Repairing Aluminum Wiring".

I hope you find these links helpful.

Good luck.

If you are interested in selling single family homes you might want to look at the following books:

  • "21 Things I Wish My Broker Had Told Me," by F. Cook.
  • "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent," by Garry Keller and Dave Jenks.

These will give you a good overview of this portion of the business.

Welcome @Blaine McGaffigan.

My focus is Collin County - so let me know if you have any questions about the markets within it.

I attend the monthly North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (NTAREI) where you can meet people and vendors involved in many aspects of real estate investing. @Dana Chun has started a new meetup group that meets monthly in Richardson. This is another good place to network with the local community.

I hope to meet you at one of these groups.

Welcome @Van Similine and @Eric Roberson to the Bigger Pockets community.

Please look at the "Learn" tab above for lots of useful information.

There are many local REIAs where you can meet people involved in the local real estate investing markets. I like to attend the meeting of the North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (www.ntarei.com). There is also a local group of Bigger Pockets members that get together as a Meet Up group. If interested, send me a PM and I will forward the information to you.

Good luck!
