Welcome @Joel Moore to the BP community.

The site has lots of information. Since you are interested in flipping check out the how to guides under the 'Learn' tab, especially the "How to Flip Houses" guide. There is a forum on Rehabbing and House Flipping you might want to check out. You can also set up keyword alerts for topics of interest.

I live in Murphy. If you have any questions about real estate investing or the local market I would be glad to share what I know.

@Shana Patrick

I agree with @Chris Soignier that there is a lot of risk doing this, especially if this is your first flip. The DFW market is extremely competitive right now. It is a seller's market, so flip properties where you can make a reasonable profit are few and far between. Also, since you are not living in the area do you have a good team (contractors, lawyer, accountant, real estate agents, etc.) in place to help make you successful? Run your numbers (including your travel costs) and make sure this deal makes sense.

Good luck!

Hi @Jordan Freeman

I agree with the folks above that local REIAs are a good place to start.

A local group of BP members are meeting tomorrow evening in Richardson. The meeting announcement can be found at the following link.

You can meet many investors who might have recommendations for you.

 There are several REIAs in the DFW Metroplex. I like the North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (www.ntarei.com). They typically meet monthly in North Dallas or Richardson. The general meetings have a variety of vendors to talk to and it is a good place to network. NTAREI also has individual training activities throughout the month. All have a cost associated with them. There are big REIAs in Dallas and Arlington - Google them to find their websites.

Good Luck!

Hi @Kishore Sadani,

You might want to check "The Book on Flipping Houses" by J. Scott for purchase under the "Learn" tab. Also there is a "Rehabbing and House Flipping" forum you might find interesting.
