Can you rent a storage unit?  You know, those long buildings with a bunch of garage doors.  I met a guy that lived in one.  $50 a month.  He slept on a cot.  There was a lightbulb and an electric outlet that he plugged a hot plate into.  There was a 24 hour gym down the street where he purchased a membership to take a shower.  He eventually got a room mate to share the storage unit with.

Can you coordinate with seller to have things arrive before you get there?

Could you put the furniture in a storage unit and then rent out the storage unit as an STR?

Here's all the details.  The door to the barrel does not lock.  The owner gives you a key to the house on the property to give access to a kitchen.

I paid $400 to sleep in a barrel in Switzerland and had the best glamping experience of my life (yahoo.com)

@Paul Sandhu- I give this person so many points for creativity. The location of the barrel would determine if I would sleep in it or not.

What if I told you it is in Switzerland?

(it is in Switzerland)

Coffeeville Kansas hands down

Cherryvale Kansas.  It's 15 minutes north of Coffeeville.  There is a $350 million construction project that started a few months ago.  There are 3-4 years left.  I should be getting some renters from that project this evening, their work starts tomorrow.

Someone is getting $400 per night for this.  The outhouse and sauna are in another barrel.

Post: Do you advertise multiple or single STRs?

For those of you with more than 2 or 3 properties, do you advertise them individually or as a collective group?  I normally put up a Craigslist ad for my group of 23 STRs, and have been doing that for about 10 years.  I'm going to try a different strategy and put up a single ad for 1 single house on Craigslist.  It's my largest house.  Sleeps 8 (which means 10-12 workers can cram in there), 3 story, 4 bathrooms.

I sometimes get a group of 6 to 36 people that come to town and need a place to stay.  They don't all come at the same time. They arrive in stages depending on the progress of the work.  I'll rent a place to the first 2 or 3 persons and then it's their word of mouth that gets the rest of places rented to the remaining people.
