Welcome @Hank Fields

Sounds like you have a lot of experience to offer and great to see you're in LA.

Sorry @Clint Kreider I didn't realize the age of the article.

So basically the article is just saying what happens every year leading up to the winter months.

@Clint Kreider are you seeing this happening in your neck of the woods?

@Alick Patrick an argument could be made that getting the person below the big dog to work with you might become beneficial for you from a financial point of view. The reason being you could potentially get the less experienced person at a lower hourly rate. You of course would have to stipulate that the big dog above them oversee everything they do before final approval.

I haven't tried this personally but I've heard it talked about before. It's at least worth investigating and asking the question if it's going to save you money.

Also if you get a young gun, they might work extra hard for you to impress their bosses.

Looks like we're one step closer to getting a NFL team in Los Angeles.

@Matt R. thanks for sharing. I always appreciate your insight into our local market.

Are you suggesting this would be a good flip or potential buy and hold after some repair work?

Hi guys,

I just came across this meetup event that is happening tomorrow night in Culver City.

I haven't been to it before, but looks promising.

It looks like Amanda Han who blogs quite a bit on BP is going to be there talking about accountancy matters.

Mate welcome to BP.

I'm new to investing also, but feel free to reach out for any local advice.

I'm from Melbourne but have lived in LA for almost 9 years now so I have a fairly good knowledge of the area. Plus I know how frustrating it can be to just arrive off the boat and realize a lot of things are done differently here to what you're used to.

@Account Closed

I've been to the LA REIA. It was OK. It was free though, so you can't complain too much.

The FIBI one was much more upscale and professional with a better and larger crowd for networking but you had to pay $25. This did include light refreshments.

Also the @ thing can be tricky. Just remember to click on the name below the box as you start to type it out. Then also don't have anything right next to the name as it then cancels it out. Bottom line, if the name isn't blue when you're typing out then it won't work and therefore won't alert the person you're talking about them.

Good luck!
