Post: What are the good areas of Inglewood in Los Angeles

Hi guys,

I'm looking to purchase a MFH in the greater Los Angeles area and Inglewood keeps coming up in our searches. Historically Inglewood doesn't have a great reputation, but I've heard that parts of it are on the up.

Can someone please give me some insight as to what areas would be worth pursuing?

Thanks.

@Matt Skinner yeah it's very interesting for sure.

House hacking is a term that I think @Brandon Turner has claimed as his own.

It's when you buy a MFH and live in one of the units while renting the other units or even bedrooms in your place out. Therefore your live rent free while the other tenants pay your mortgage.

I'm sure there's a better technical term that someone of your experience knows, but that's just what the guys on the podcast use.

@Matt Skinner so you're saying your friend, who is RE savvy, is better off financially renting long term instead of house hacking over and over?

@Brandon Turner I found an old post that you did a while back, but the video had been removed, so I just searched SNL and the title of the skit that was still available in the old link.

Thanks for the pro upgrade!

If you've listened to the 100th podcast you would have heard that our very own @Joshua Dorkin is a former SNL star.

For those of you who have been dying to see it, you're in luck because here it is!

He’s the guy in the background over the cop’s (who I think is Ben Affleck?) shoulder with the flat top.

Surely @Brandon Turner this must mean some kind of free access to premium features for 2015 :)

And @Joshua Dorkin please don't terminate my account :)

@Eyal B. looks awesome!

This is exactly what I want to be doing one day. And the fact that it's in LA, more specifically Silver Lake, which is close to or already the hottest area in LA is fantastic!

I've lived in LA for nearly 9 years and really wish I had discovered real estate earlier. If you're looking for a local new investor to expand give me a shout. I have a TV production background so could maybe help out with some marketing for you?

All the best!

Amazing accomplishment @Jered Sturm

Very inspiring!

Although there's no way I could live for a month on only $200-$300  :)

Congratulations! It gives us newbies hope that it will all pay off in the end, just as long as we play it smart. The rehab looks awesome!

No worries @Matt Skinner yeah I noticed you had just joined. Welcome!

Luckily for a new investor like myself I do have this right off the bat, so I'm very grateful to have found it.

Also the blogs sometimes are featured on the newsletter or Facebook page.

Hopefully we can do some deals down the road!

Great post @Matt Skinner

I'm looking into multi-family instead of SFH so this definitely helps.

I  think it would fit better as a blog posting though.

What do you think @Brandon Turner ?
