New to the forum and USA

Hi people,

I have recently moved to the USA, just waiting on my greencard and then looking to dive into the Real Estate Investment business. Moving from England, it is already easy to see a difference in the way things are run here, but there appears to be a lot of opportunity.

Living in LA. Eventually looking to invest in California, but elsewhere to start (LA appears to be very expensive and as such rental returns don't inspire!).

Have been listening to the podcasts but if anyone has any advice on where I can get ahead, would be much appreciated. Currently studying towards my real estate license. 

On a side note, looking at Fresno and would be interested to see what people's thoughts would be on http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/Fresno-CA/pmf... property. Appears to have a good bit of land and is in a good neighbourhood (have family who live in the area). Obviously the asking price is steep but appears to have potential and just want to get a feel and some feedback,
