@Matthew Mirkin welcome to BP!

I'm down the road in Santa Monica.

I'm currently getting my CA real estate license. I purchased the online course through Allied. Quite a few people on BP recommended them and I found it to be pretty good. Just be sure to make note of the time restrictions. This is enforced by the CABRE to stop people from signing up to quickly get their license.

Check out their site for more info.

The city of Inglewood last night fast tracked the approval of a football stadium next to Hollywood Park.

No teams have committed themselves to the stadium, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

Thanks @Joshua McGinnis

@Tom Camarda looks like yourself, my wife and I share the same idea. We're also both tired of the TV industry and looking to develop a portfolio of passive income. People wonder why we would want to get out of the "exciting" world of TV so I'm sure you can relate.

I came across this blog today.

Not sure if it's been posted here before, but some of the pics are pretty amazing!

@Allison R. I plan to be there. Work sometimes gets in the way...

I'm actually catching up with Evelyn tomorrow.

@Jon Huber it's definitely interesting times ahead.

My wife and I were hoping our condo in Santa Monica would get caught up in the tech boom and have a significant rise in appreciation, but as stated in the article SM developers aren't helping us out.

I'll be following it closely for sure.

@Account Closed I've been watching Westchester since this announent last year. Price shave already started to rise and will continue. Santa Monica is actually against the expansion being generated by all the tech companies so the tech workers are moving further south to the Playa area.

I couldn't find the article but I think it was on Curbed LA.

My wife works up at Apple once a year and is charged $3,000 a month for what is very average accommodation. I would look at doing the same here and renting to short-medium term tech contractors.
