Pitch Forks & Torches -
We need to stand up and take notice. We the People have allowed this situation - run by these people to whom we refer - to happen.
We are here, at this point in history, because We the People have turned a blind eye. The 'good guys' are afraid to run for office because they are trashed in the press. Most have put their head in the sand as they pulled the proverbial lever for the “same ole’, same old.” Or worse – We the People put our fingers in our ears while saying “la, la, la, la” in the loudest voice we could muster; all the while, pretending all was well.
All is not well, nor is it lost.
If you do not vote, do so. If you do not research before casting your vote, you may be more to blame than those that just stay home. If you do not run for office or recruit the best of your friends to do so – where will we even find the new revolutionaries?
A revolution is brewing, my friends. Hopefully, the pitch forks will stay in our garages & sheds and we will fight this battle with concepts, followed by words, followed by votes.
I have met the enemy and he is us.
BTW, in case you are wondering – I am in the arena. I have run for, and currently hold, local elected office. I have not allowed myself to be influenced by special interest or party bosses or intimidation. I stand for what I believe as backed by an overwhelming majority of my constituents.
I truly believe the parties are broke and our country is breaking. I think we can fix it. I have not given up hope. In reading many of your posts (above) it seems you agree to some degree or another. The posters here are at different ends of the political spectrum, but we seem to share in the sad reality that we have lost representation in government.
Now what are YOU going to do about it?
