I have been doing a lot of research on a few countries in South America and hopefully, in the next year, I am able to start investing internally. From what I have seen a lot of things are the same as far as generally speaking about real estate, but the lending and legality of it may differ from country to country. @Thomas Mofokeng

Columbus, OH is a great city for cash flow and appreciation. Being a graduate of Ohio State, you most likely have some connections in Columbus and that could be a huge help in this process while you are starting out. Just remember to choose a market that aligns with your goals for REI. Good Luck!

It all depends on your goals for cash flow and appreciation. You can get great cash flow in a lot of midwestern cities but Columbus can be a competitive market for investors so you would most likely have to put that into a SFH in a C neighborhood or continue to save for either a bigger investment or better neighborhood for it. @Tyler Paquette

Welcome to BP! The areas listed above are great options to start with. You should be able to find some quality deals in those neighborhoods with that budget. Good Luck! @Roberto Candelario

Olde Towne East, Franklinton, Southern Orchards, Merion Village and Hungarian Village are a few to start. @Alex Ray

It all depends on what you are looking to get out of cash flow and appreciation. If you are looking to buy and hold, the areas where young professionals are already living will be pretty expensive and not cash flow as well in comparison to some other areas that are developing more rapidly. @Alex Ray

I have heard of a decent amount of people either investing/ living in Bali, it seems to be a pretty big hub for digital nomads. I would just be careful if you have the right to the land as well, becasue some countries in Asia only will allow you to own the actual property.  I am personally looking mostly in South America, would love to hear what you find out though! @Jose M Ruiz

I would recommend Columbus compared to some of the other cities. If you look at the job and population growth of the city that should help in some of the decision making and if the cash flow and appreciation align with your goals. Good Luck! @Akshay Vig
