Those seem like some great goals! A lot of the above comments gave some great advice already but I agree that now is the time to be taking risks because of where you are in life. I am getting ready to house hack here in Columbus as well, but it is obviously a lot easier for me since I am from here.

You are correct in saying that the market is booming and there are many reasons why the city is growing and it is an attractive market for investors. With that being said it wouldn't hurt to stay in an Airbnb for a week or so and check out the city overall before you make the leap so you can be sure it is something you want to do. Good luck! @Jimmy Lieu

I am in the same situation. I have been trying to find meetups as well, but you are correct that most are suspended due to COVID. What ones have you seen that are meeting online? Would love to hear if you come across any more! @Stephen A. Pope

I am curious to know what the general attitude and cultures are of real estate investing in other countries. Here in the United States, it is obviously a huge industry and you can almost always count on someone to take your call and do business with you. How does this compare to the rest of the world? Do various parts of real estate differ more from country to country or continent to continent.

Additionally, when looking to invest in foreign assets and invest in real estate in other markets, what some things to always be mindful of in these various transactions?

It all depends on what market you're looking at. In some of the midwest markets that don't have as much competition right now there are already turnkey companies in place. As for other cities that are hotter, it might be more expensive. @Jerrod Hill

I second Columbus as well! As long as you have a solid team in place this will mitigate the risks involved in long-distance investing and would allow you to go faster in the process. If you do go bigger in the start just be cautious of what properties are meeting your goals if you follow that and account for outside risks there shouldn't be a reason you can't hit the ground running. @Drew Hoffos

It looks like you have some good options there. Columbus is a hot market right now, the city is attracting a lot of investors. Best of luck in your search! @Keaton Smith

I recommend figuring out what investment strategy you would like to pursue. This will give you a better indication of what type of property you should be going after and will then point you in the right direction for markets. I am based out of Columbus and a lot of cities, in general, have the opportunity to make that amount of money go a long way with the right team. @Rachel Cutler

Congrats on the deal! Do you think you are going to continue with this type of strategy for future investments? @Danielle Ceplice
