Welcome!

I also looking for a multi family property, and financing with an FHA loan. My first property will be a house hack and I will be living in one unit for the first year.

It is difficult to make the jump, but it begins with becoming pre qualified and submitting offers

Welcome @Shawn Hughes

Personally, I am looking to house hack- I would set up daily listings from the MLS and begin to analyze deals. Get prequalified so you know what you can offer on a house. It depends on your market and if SFR numbers work better, then go with it

Welcome @Dany Pelletier

1. I am looking to house hack with a duplex or tri plex. Figure out how you want to finace the deal. If you live in the unit you can do a FHA loan which is 3.5% down and you live in the residence for one year-

@Linda Vang Welcome!

I am also using a FHA for my first purchase.

First get pre qualified and they will let you know what you are able to buy. They can typically give you a ballpark and then with all of the w2's, etc. they will let you know what you qualify for.

With the FHA you will live in the residence for your first year. House Hack as well, living in one unit and renting the remaining units.

Welcome @Anton Jaramillo

BP is a awesome recourse. Take small steps daily to achieve your goal. Figure out what you want to invest in and start analyze deals daily. This will prepare you and help you spot a good deal when you see one.

The podcasts are awesome and also the blogs and articles on the site are very helpful,

Good Luck!

Welcome @Fe Kelly

I am also looking for multi's. The MLS is very competitive and about 90% of properties are not deals, your goal is to find the ones that are great buys. I would recommend analyzing properties daily and keeping track of the area you are looking to invest in
