When you see these signs are these from big companys or personal investors?

Also, when they say "We buy houses" do they usually buy any house or do they look for houses going into foreclosures?

Finally, if it is a foreclosure do they usually always buy the house? what is the process like? Do you go to the persons house take a look at it and give them a price and hope they accept it?

Thanks

This sounds ridiculous but we got quoted 25k for a new roof... 1900 square feet... does this sound correct?

what are the prices for a new roof?

I know what you mostly see on the tv shows that do flipping are not to par as it is in reality but if anyone watches any of them are they somewhat close to what house flipping is about when it comes down to their cost of buying/repairs/and profit? ( I know prices vary by location) but overall what do you guys think about the shows? Bull$hit? or enjoyable and close to reality

I have taken my real estate sales persons course a few years ago and have not taken the exam, which would be a good book to study to refresh my mind to take the exam?

As for getting an steady income, it is quite hard here to find jobs. So maybe a good thing would to try to get my salesperson license. I also do not have much to expenses to pay.

My other question is as follow, I have had my seasonal job for 6 years, do you think the bank would consider giving any type of loan to purchase a house or give me enough to fix?

I have talked to my parents and they would be glad to purchase the rehabbed house if I could possibly get money or a loan to fix up the place. We already have some close family friends to fix up anything.

Hello everyone,

I would like some insight from anyone who could help me out; I have always had an intrest in real estate and rehabbing houses and I believe this is what I truley waht to get involved with, real estate. I told myself I would try college first and see how that goes and.. it's not going as planned, I have tried about 4 different majors and I just can't get intrested in it and I keep going back to real estate. I am currently 24 years old and do not have a full-time job; only seasonal and that is coming to an end. I would love to take some sort of classes and seminars and learn more about real estate however I don't have much intrest in becoming a real estate agent. I'm from Long Island N.Y incase anyone knows of any classes I can take or know where I would go to find some.

My parents offered to get me started with a house as they do light real estate and have a sense of what they are doing, they do rentals. My objective is to fix and flip to make a quick profit and build up to buy in cash eventually.

I don't really want my parents money to get started; I would like to get started on my own with my own loans however I believe this may be impossible as I dont have the funds and do not have a full-time job and don't believe the bank will lend to me to buy and fix a house, but I could be wrong. Eventually I do want this to be my full-time job.

What steps should I take?
How should I go about on getting the funds to buy & fix a house?

Thank You very much!

Hello Rob and thank you for your reply I greatly appreciate it. If you don't mind me asking; what exactly do you mean by selling contracts? Do you mean wholeselling? Also I wanted to ask you, what is your take on hard money lenders? Would this be a good idea?

Thank You
