Is their anyone around the Long Island area that is currently flipping houses? I'd like to ask a few questions and maybe shadow you a bit to see how things are done.

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile since I been on these forums. I have not been active on these forums as I started a cleaning business and that took over my life for a bit.

Now that I have it running smoothly, I'm looking to get back into real estate.

I just don't know where to start!

My first two options are these.

1) Do real estate here in the states.

2) Do real estate in europe (Malta)

If I do it here, I would have more control over it. However, I'm not sure what route I would like to take. I like the ideal of flipping, for short term income then move onto something more long-term. My question for this, is flipping still going strong? I have talked with a few investors and they all seem to say it's "Saturated" here (Long Island, N.Y).

If I do it in europe, I would have less control, but will have family helping me. My idea for there is to get a waterfront apartment and rent it out via Air bnb. I have checked and asked, and many people do Air bnb there. It's a very big tourist destination right in the heart of the mediterranean. A good thing is, there are no property taxes and everything is much cheaper then it is here in the states. PLUS it seems like traveling abroad is getting more and more popular for many living here in the states.

What are your thoughts and opinions? any advice would be great!

Thank You

It has been almost two years! I have tried contacting the owner a long time ago but have not ever heard back. What can I do to see which bank owns the house, and possibly find out when it will go on the market, or maybe make an offer before it goes up on the market. How will I go about this? I really want this house, as it has so much potential at the right buying price.

I'm curious as to how all of you are finding your leads/deals. What has been the most successful for you?

So, I attended a REI meeting couple days ago, and it was based on flipping houses. As we were going through the powerpoint and other information, the mentor (who is great at what he does) said, don't use the 65% rule. Why is this? I have my notes at my house which shows what he said to use to figure out your MO

@Raymond B.

Of course I have! I took a break from his blog due to school, but I'm back at it and catching up on his blogs. I also brought both of his books (one of many books that I have actually ever finished from page one to last page)
