You should definitely separate your personal account from your real estate.It makes easier for when tax time comes around. You also want to keep your security deposits in a separate account as well. Double check your states law.

First thing is to become familiar on what you want do. Flip,buy/hold etc. Read, Read,Read and while you are gaining knowledge find a job save and live below your means. The area you are buying in is a great area. Rents are high and appreciation is always rising.To be honest I do not think the minimum wage workers will be able to afford rent in your area, unless you rent by room.
