@Jonathan Taylor Smith Hey thanks Jonathan.  When you say "before I got into REI I owed ~$14K in taxes (year after year) in addition to what I paid throughout the year", can you elaborate on that a bit? 

And can you help me understand the $20k swing?

I’ve always wanted to know what are the benefits from buying and holding real estate. Of course you have your monthly passive income. Butbwhat are some significant tax benefits, returns you can benefit from yearly besides depreciation? What are more ways to make a return in your investment by holding real estate?

That’s a great idea! Yeah I just feel like there’s a better way to get this done. I have two houses we are flipping and I’m hung up on these countertops because I want to use Solid Surface countertops, but my granite guys are not familiar with it. I would do granite but I believe I can get a significantly cheaper price overall if I go with Solid Surface

@Bill Brandt thanks. Yeah this is for two flips of mines. I’m currently being charged about $3500 for a small L shaped kitchen counter. And about $5500 for a slightly larger kitchen plus 4 bathroom countertops.
