Hey @Shahriar Vaghar!  Welcome to BP!  I grew up in San Jose and love the area.  There are opportunities all over the Bay Area.  Once you have your budget & criteria nailed down, it's off to the races!  Feel free to reach out any time with any questions, or even see whats possible out there for investing.

@Ryan Oblak - Welcome to BP.  This is a great community full of knowledge and awesome people.  Have you looked into House Hacking any more?  We (The @David Greene Team) have a lender we can refer you to as well.  We have helped a lot of clients in your shoes find a property to House Hack in the East Bay.  There are opportunities out there!  Feel free to reach out to see how we can help you meet your goals.

@Meera Vinjamuri, as @Michael Silver said, David's books are a great place to start.  Welcome to BP and one piece of advice I tell a lot of people is to now start thinking of yourself as a Real Estate Investor.  The fact you are on BP as well as listened to numerous podcasts already puts you in the top percentile of real estate knowledge.  The shift in your mindset will really start to translate into success for you and your everyday life.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out any time!

@Michael Weir as Phil said above, I know @Kyle Renke would be able to help you in the Sacramento area.  He (like me) is part the @David Greene Team and is super knowledgeable.  LMK if you want to be connected, or feel free to shoot him a connection request.

There are a lot of opportunities in the Sacramento area, it's simply a matter of using your creative eye to make a property work for you and your criteria.

@Gerald Magtibay - Congrats on getting involved in real estate investing and welcome to BP!  It really is a great resource and everyone in the community is super helpful.

House Hacking in the Bay Area IS possible despite what a lot of people say.  It is simply a matter if identifying the property in ways that others can't.  Basically squeezing the highest and best use out of it.  Sure you can go out of state and that's a great strategy for cash flow.  You simply won't get the appreciation you will here in the Bay Area.

As @Brian Garlington showed, Oakland and the East Bay are some great areas to focus on as well as others around here we are confident will be lucrative in the next few years

We (The David Greene Team) have meetups pretty regularly and think it'd be beneficial for you to not only see what's possible, but meet others of the same mindset of all experience levels.

@Jim S.- Come through anytime!

@Steven Lam - Welcome to the site!  BP is a great place to meet others and see what's really possible.  We have a lot of house hacking clients as well and I can tell you a tip that's helped.  The new homes that are relatively new on the market, we tend to shy away from.  There will normally be a lot of interest there, and a lot of the times someone overpays for it.  That's not how you wan to get a start on your rei career.  We like to look for properties with a creative eye that have been on the market with a while and see what other can't.  Ways to make the property work for you, instead of you making the property work.  Shoot me a PM if you want to talk shop sometime!  We are in the East Bay and I grew up in Cupertino so I know the sticker shock is breathtaking!

@Dustin Gleaton - What are some of your goals?  Cash flow?  Appreciation? Primary residence? Rentals?  Once you narrow down your criteria and what you're comfortable with, we could really help.  Bigger Pockets is a great start as there are a ton of free resources here as well as an awesome community!
