This is a networking opportunity for anyone looking to invest in the Bronx, NY which may include people from Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, or Brooklyn.

There will be a Bronx REI Meetup this upcoming Thursday July 30th, 2015 at Billy's Sports Bar near Yankee Stadium at 6:30 pm.

If you are interested please find the Bronx Real Estate Network on Meetup.com.  I have no affiliation with this association other than attending the event.

@Latoya Gordon Yea something about the card just really takes the professionalism to another level.  I'm considering a home outline in black with a white backdrop with lines that say "write on me" so who I give it to can take notes.  While the other side has my information, including "Real Estate Professional."

Oh also some advice if you aren't sure how to use the @ sign, go here to learn how to use the mention option (@)

@Nancy Allen This is a great questions as I myself am inquiring about using a 401(k) loan to begin my investing career.

I posted a post here here but it was 401k vs ira.  One thing that you have to make sure you consider is that you will be paying back the loan with after tax dollars and when you withdraw in retirement you will be taxed again.  So although a hard money lender might be more expensive %age wise you have to take taxes into consideration.

@Dan Mackin sounds like its all about finding a balance between too much information and not enough.  Im considering utilizing a tag such as "Making a house a home again" as suggested by @Paul Timmins.  I think it opens up the door to conversations as to what do you mean by that? and then i can go into my mission statement of providing safe and reliable homes to families.

@Paul thanks for the tips, Im considering a simple card that has an outline of a house on one side with my info on the other.  Only going to order 50 but they will be high quality which i think will help me stand out a bit.

Hi @Robert Mika welcome to BP.  I would say if you are looking to meet people and work on their teams, build out your pgofile and start connecting with people here.  In the meantime look for some free books that are excellent resources go check out The Ultimate Beginners Guide and Real Estate Rewind both put together by @Brandon Turner both located in the FilePlace.

And most importantly make sure you connect with as many people as possible on this platform. Active members on the site are here to help one another achieve their Real Estate goals.

Good luck

@Account Closed Thanks for the advice.  Definitely going with Real Estate Professional, at least for my first set of business cards.  I'm sure there will be many iterations over time.

Just want to get the opinion of the BP Community.

I am one who believes in the power of a business card.  Although I can connect with many investors here, I know that not everyone uses BP.

Obviously, I would put Name, email, and contact number...No website as I dont have one yet.

I wanted to know what does a newbie like myself put on a business card? Real Estate Investor? (Not an investor yet) Aspiring Real Estate Investor? (may discredit myself) Real Estate Entrepreneur?  Really looking for any advice and opinions

Should I add what I'm interested in on the card? I also don't want to limit my options.

@Wendell De Guzman This is a great thread that I want to say is important for investors of all levels.  One has to create a system and know that you may have to reroute the pipes pending whats happening in the market.

As a aspiring investor, I know that the pipeline is going to be based on who you know.  RE to me is about making connections with people that are willing to help you and you finding ways to help them.  This is why attending meetups is crucial for noobs like me.

@Matthew Fleming if you passed the test I would say just finish the process and in this manner you have access to the MLS. You will also be able to go view properties without having to deal with the Agent. I've heard on the podcast as well that some people are agents and still use agents and give away the commission which is a great way to help build relationships.

And tell your agent that he's too slow and if he doesn't adjust let him go unless there is something that he is giving you that you can't find elsewhere (which i doubt)
