I got my Licences a few months ago and will just tell you what I would have done knowing what I know now.1. keep your day job so you can qualify for loans if not your will need a partner with lots of cash I did I was lucky .

Before anyone pops up with a "get your own licence", I agree that is the best advice, but we are not US citizens, so that is unfortunately not an option, unless someone knows a loophole I am unaware of?

Ian - Looks like Ohio has an 120 hr pre-licence requirement, to be completed at an approved institution which meets State guidelines (accredited for 2 yr degree programs or above).
