'Evening.  We are looking to do our first 1031 here in Columbus.  At last nights landlord meeting Dave ( leads the group) said something that finally struck home with me.  "If you have a property that you're even thinking about selling, now may be the time."  Yes, that could have been said many times in the past, but this time I'm agreeing.

We have a campus duplex and would like to start the process of a 1031.  We have an agent for the sale, we need someone to handle the 1031 side.  Any one here have any experiences good or bad?

Thanks!

@Darrin Carey hope it would have been a good deal.  Someone else had better terms for them.  Thanks for the insights though

@Ala Schneider depends on the area.  Some may not want to manage properties in area's you're invested in.  Or they're just schmucks and good thing they didn't respond.  saves aggravation down the road.

@Steven Leigh, Thanks for the name.  I'll give him a call.  Yes, we are buying in CMH.  I've sent a PM

@Darrin Carey Thanks so much for the phone call today.  Very informative.  And for the manager names.

@Brian G. Thanks for the offer.  It's awesome what Bigger pockets members do for one another.

Good Morning,

We are looking at some property in the Trotwood suburb of Dayton.  Now we are located in Columbus and have some familiarity with Dayton.  Mostly the UD area and airport.  I have done a search on Trotwood and would like someone who knows the area better.  Parts look ok, and parts do not.

If anyone has a good property manager that works that area I would be interested in picking their brain and possibly hiring them if the project proceeds.  Any info on cap rates and vacancy rates would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sean

He's replaced a door that was damaged, redid showers, fixed window sills.

@Robert Ellis It was King Arthur Court.  17 units, not in the same league as the ones they're talking about I suppose.

no doubt. should have seen this Westerville property. not sure how whomever is purchasing it is going to make money. maybe sell the condos off  individually.
