@Nicolas Mendoza  In respect to tax and legal, I would seek professional counsel to ensure you are getting the best advice.  Spending money upfront will keep you from a potential larger expense down the road.

@Jacob Cast Welcome to BP and thank you for your service!  I would focus my time educating myself in the investment strategy you are going to execute as an investor. (Buy & Hold, flip, etc) and build relationships with local investors who are executing that strategy.

I would also ask them to explain their process and provide examples of communication.  Understanding their procedures will help you avoid unnecessary costs.

@Ray Hernandez I would add going to local REIA's and Meetups to identify potential buyers. I would also try to network with local real estate agents and single family property management firms to get a good grasp on the local investor community.
