You are going to sacrifice your tax leveraged nest egg for your first try at real estate? I would really consider trying it with money that has smaller implications, but that is me being conservative.

So I've personally only worked with 3 in the area but have friends that have worked with several others. We have all landed on @David Moudy because of his communication, diligence, and aligning of incentives. Highly highly recommend.  

That said - before hiring any property manager, you should be interviewing them to make sure they fit your needs/comfort level. You should probably also talk to people who are current/past clients. More than willing to chat with you if you want.

@Don Konipol Exactly what I was trying to avoid. One thing to kick your own property into LLC. Different to sell it.
