Post: Top 3 questions I get about Direct Mail...

1. What makes your direct mail service better?

Quality mail pieces and being an inclusive one stop shop for all things direct mail related. Open Letter Marketing will take care of the entire process from start to finish, and work with you along the way to ensure that you are getting exactly what you want. We also provide guidance and advice along the way to make sure your direct mail strategy aligns with your ultimate goal for your marketing efforts. Each person is different and we will treat you as an individual.

2. Which mail piece should I use?

Depends. The factors that go into how I will make this recommendation are as follows. Who are you mailing too? What type of list do you have? How many times are you mailing to them? How many leads do you have?

These may seem like random questions but they all play a role in how I would structure your direct mail campaign. The one constant I will tell people is nix the yellow letters they are old and overused. Trust me on that :)

(If you want more specifics on this call in and I can prescribe you the best direct mail piece for your business)

3. How many times should I mail to the same list?

Follow up is KEY! If you mail to a list one time and get flustered at the results then stick with it. You don't want your work and money to go down the drain. Check out these statistics that represent the number of deals that came from direct mail by touch.

  • After the 1st Contact: 2%
  • After the 2nd Contact: 4%
  • After the 3rd Contact: 6%
  • After the 4th Contact: 10%
  • After the 5th Contact: 81%

People tend to give up after the second or third touch but stick with it. Statistics don't lie!

I hope this was useful information. Please reach out to me if you have any question and I would be happy to have a direct mail discussion with you.

We look forward to hearing from you!

@Kathleen Heine However I would stay away from yellow letters if you do handwritten so it on a white piece of paper rather than yellow. Yellow letters are over used so they tend to not do as well any more. Let me know if you have any other questions I am happy to help. :)

@Kathleen Heine I would say say a combination of both you should be hitting each prospect multiple times so you can test it out by seeing which mailer brings in the calls :)

@Albert Mainja I would say that it depends on the demographic. If you are mailing to smaller neighborhoods then a handwritten letter will have a more personal feel and will get their attention. However depending on how many leads you have typing up a professional letter may be a better use of your time. Please DM me if you have any other direct mail related questions :)

The goal of direct mail is get the mailer opened and the calls coming in.

They way to do this successfully is to mail letters that float to the top of the mail pile and entice your prospect to open the letter. If your letter is being thrown away right off the bat then you money is going down the drain.

Open Letter Marketing found the solution and we want to share it with you. The key is bright eye catching envelopes and tried and tested content.

For more information on why Open Letter is the best direct mail option for you please check out our unique products and give us a call.

We continuously create, test, and only offer the best products so YOU can close more deals!!

Cheers,

Post: Does using your full name and other info increase response rates?

@Nate Si Hey Nate, I wouldn't put in too much info about yourself because you want to make sure the main focus of your letter is about getting them to pick up the phone and call about their house. You don't want to distract from the goal. As far as using your full name I don't think it hurts to use your full name when you are reaching out just so that people become more familiar with you.

@Heather Moore I agree to send a more general letter. People don't like to feel like their situation is being targeted. But I would also recommend staying away from the yellow letter. It is really over used and people arent responding to them the way they used to. If you want more info please reach out. Cheers and good luck :)
