It's a negative, but only 2-3 times a day, I'd say.
Possibly not as bad as you might think.
But, I grew up a couple blocks from a train yard, and grew used to hearing trains coupling in the night. If it does not make the units hard to rent, why worry?

If I wanted to write an article on how much cheaper housing is today than it was for the previous generation

If housing is cheap, why are there so many homeless?

They are not all "bums" to use an old term.

OK I know, easy to ask, but no good answer.

How about talking to the landlord? Work something out, or yes, move on.

A week or two after that, a listing agent put a tarp on a roof and held

it in place with lawn furniture, and was then outraged that the

appraiser questioned the roof because the appraiser "wasn't qualified,

due to not being a roof expert, to question it" (come on... really?).

And if the appraiser does not mention it, they will hear a raft of s*** from some underwriter. Only an idiot would try to ignore the red flag, err blue tarp on the roof. Lawn furniture? LMAO. Fix the dang roof.

LOL, good stuff.

Where's the tenant from Nantucket?

I'll just say, the stories about him are greatly exaggerated.

Why would you want to keep someone who is so brain dead they start a fire in such a dumb way? Trying for 2 fires?

@Jill DeWit

Interesting strategy. Sounds like once you have access to data, all you need is a few hundred bucks to prime the pump / send out mailers. And money to buy the properties. Still, not a huge investment.

Don't make an *** out of U and Me.

Open the wall if needed to find it and test it.

Install one if needed.
