@Kerwin Cabrera , I would go ahead and discuss this with your lender. One of the best things I have ever done was built a great relationship with my primary lender, which has helped me out a ton. We discuss our plans and goals with her and she lets us know what potential hurdles or challenges we will face from a borrowing perspective and what we can do to overcome those issues. The lender will be able to give you an idea of if you will be able to do this...sometimes you just need to share your plans and ask.

Welcome to BP William. It looks like you are already getting some help, but just as a suggestion, you might want to provide a little more background info about yourself, your goals, etc. More people generally respond when they feel someone really took the time to make an introduction, rather than just asking for help. Anyways, I have heard good things about the Dayton market. Good luck to you!

Hey Lauren, welcome to BP and good question. I actually got out of the Air Force last year, but I got started in real estate investing while I was still active duty. There are actually quite a few military members involved in real estate investing to one degree or another. While I was in I met a lot of people who owned several rental houses, one guy who managed (along with his wife) over 25 properties, and other who were in the industry one way or another.

Some of the good things about investing while serving are the resources available. I actually talked a little about this on the BP podcast episode I was on. In addition, depending on what you are looking to achieve, you can purchase properties in different markets as you move. This allows you to spread out and diversify your properties, which can be a good thing (although it can present management problems).

My favorite thing about real estate is the abundance of options. There are so many ways to invest in real estate and so many methods of managing your business...you just need to figure out what your goals are and how you want to go about achieving them. Good luck!
