Hi from Miami Beach!
Hi There,
I am a new real estate investor living on Miami Beach. I am currently lining up all of my resources and knowledge to do my first rehab in Miami (single family homes). I am also a member of the Miami Real Estate Club.
I am a full-time executive assistant for an international consulting firm (leadership consulting) and I telecommute so I need to be very organized to be able to work and manage a rehab at the same time. I'm originally from Jackson Hole, Wyo and I lived in Santa Cruz, CA, where I went to school (BA Anthropology and South Asian Studies).
I lived on the Northern Ute Indian Reservation in Ft. Duchese, UT for 6 years, which is where I did my first real estate deal - after the 2002 Olympics, the state had a number of brand new mobile homes that they had purchased to house athletes but many were never used. They were selling them at half-price to tribal members, and since my boyfriend at the time was a tribal member, we were able to buy the home, which was worth double what we paid for it, I bought some land, put the home on a permanent foundation, got a home equity loan, and rented it for several years before we sold it. I hired all the trades and acted as the general contractor and it was a great experience.
I lived in NYC for 6 years before I moved down to Miami. I miss it sometimes. I also spend a good amount of the ski season in Utah where my family lives.
My goal is to start out doing as many rehabs as I can manage while enjoying the process, to create a good chunk of cash that I can use to do bigger real estate deals. I want to create a life where I can have a home in Florida, a fabulous apartment in NY, a ski home, and have lots of fun.
I have been researching real estate investing for years and I have come across so much useful info on BP. My most recent foray into researching private lenders has landed me here for good. The interview with Ann Bellamy was AMAZING! All my questions were answered! Thanks Ann and BP!
