@Carl R. that's good to hear. A few days ago I signed up with Real Estate Express . The thing that throws me is its not a 90 hour course, its just a book with some exam prep.

@Jeff Fox Maybe it's time to do them in person again. I personally would like to talk to people REAL LIVE as opposed to "live". They can try but you can't replace the in person connection and opportunity as you have when you are working a crowd and you never know who you can meet.

@Gloria N Gear thanks! I somehow found myself on a Keller Williams page that led me to Real Estate Express. So I purchased that and just started it last night.

The thing I don’t get is that I am supposed to be taking a 90 hour course but nowhere am I seeing anything (videos or audio) that clocks out at 90 hours, it’s just an online curriculum, some practice tests, and the physical book. So idk if the online material has become a stand in for the 90 hours or if I am missing something...

I am going to get my Real Estate license online. I tried Aceable but they don't do licensing for Indiana yet. There are dozens of online sites to get the license from so I don't want to waste my time on a program that's sub par.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

@Michael Noto Thanks. I've decided that is exactly what I am going to do. My next step will be finding an agency that will work with me being part time. I've read that KW doesn't allow for it. So I am going to try FC Tucker. They have a pretty big presence in Indiana.

@Frank Hinck thanks again. I’m going to do it and I’ll do it as you’ve laid out.

As of your suggestion I have looked into KW and their website says they do not take part time agents but I’ll call a human in the morning. My main interest in them is that I hear their training resources are phenomenal.

@Frank Hinck thanks man. So you do think that it's possible to meet home buyers primarily in the evenings and weekends?

Currently I sell flooring at a local floor store in Indianapolis. It's a full time job and I generally enjoy it.

Recently I learned that my beautiful wife is pregnant! I'm excited but the news made me consider more deeply whether I'm on the right ship. While I can and have been providing with my current job I have sense that my ceiling is much lower than it would be as a realtor. Even if I make 10 sales in a week in flooring it's a small denominations biz and the commissions reflect that. Not that I don't do well, but you see my point. You make much more per sale selling houses and the ceiling is much higher.

That said, I am considering whether I ought to take realtor classes and night and do that part time until I have a few sales under my belt and then drop the flooring. I don't know how many part time realtors make it work but that is why I am opening this up for discussion.

What do you think? Stay the course I'm on or pursue being a realtor?

Any counsel is appreciated.
