Sell houses, or keep selling floors?

Currently I sell flooring at a local floor store in Indianapolis. It's a full time job and I generally enjoy it.

Recently I learned that my beautiful wife is pregnant! I'm excited but the news made me consider more deeply whether I'm on the right ship. While I can and have been providing with my current job I have sense that my ceiling is much lower than it would be as a realtor. Even if I make 10 sales in a week in flooring it's a small denominations biz and the commissions reflect that. Not that I don't do well, but you see my point. You make much more per sale selling houses and the ceiling is much higher.

That said, I am considering whether I ought to take realtor classes and night and do that part time until I have a few sales under my belt and then drop the flooring. I don't know how many part time realtors make it work but that is why I am opening this up for discussion.

What do you think? Stay the course I'm on or pursue being a realtor?

Any counsel is appreciated.
