I say go for it and get the class done with! My transition from current job to full time agent is about 6-9 months out but I will start with a brokerage soon and find a good mentor. I rather not waste 6-9 months and just go at it part time. Don't waste time. Best of luck.

I see nothing wrong in using a loan from your 401k to put towards down payment. I used this method for my first house to leave cash in the bank. However if you plan to leave employer anytime soon I would rethink it since you will probably need to repay right away. My parents do it all the time as well for properties they buy. Best of luck.
