Well I have not really started making money off of Real Estate yet however I have a pretty good household income between my Fiancé and I. The type of income I would love to reach through real estate in the next 7 years. Lets call it $7k passive income. I'll tell you that getting to the point where we are now that we do get those friends that reach out to borrow, expect tab picked up, etc. They do it jokingly.. or do they? I don't know.  I always make it seem like I am broke and have some "expense" so no extra money. But in reality we are very comfortable, don't stress any bills, travel when work allows, and we have what we WANT at this point in life. So although I don't see myself as rich many others that work for me do come for guidance in getting to this point in the corporate ladder and I love to help others to achieve their goals so I do my best with that to help them. I think the life changer for me if I got "rich" would be the time that I get back for friends and family. Oh and of course I am sure maybe a few fun toys along the way but that's later on in life. Baby steps.

@Adrian Smudeundefined

Thanks for the warm welcome and I agree! I am starting to get into the podcast and over the last year I have focused on paying down some of her debts to help us with her debt to income when its time for her to get the first mortgage. Next home will hopefully be under her name.

Thank you! I feel with the knowledge all around me and my P&L management experience that I have the right tools to get the job done. This forum helps reduce the anxiety that many first time investors have.

Its funny Edward I used to hate reading books until I really got the real estate bug. Also after college I wanted to continue my education and reading at least one book a month goes a long way. I suggest that to many of my younger leaders in my company who may or may not have college education. so many other ways to learn if college was not an option for you.

Thanks for the welcome gentlemen. Hope I did the tagging correctly.

Hello my new Bigger Pockets friends and family. My name is Jordas Reyes and I am from the Naples, FL area. I grew up in SWFL (Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, and Estero) and plan to get into the investment world in my back yard. My parents were starting to get into the investment world (3 units) around 2003-2004. When the market got to its bottom they did not make it. However going through that learning with them and helping my dad do repairs and upgrades really got me interested in this business. My mother is also a real estate agent part time (mainly helping friends and family) in the Tampa market. I attended Florida Gulf Coast University where I received my 4 year degree in Business Management in 2010 while working at Best Buy. I have been with the company now for 9 years and currently a General Manager at one of our Fort Myers location. My goal is to leverage the great income and company benefits (stocks and bonus) to start my investment career. Last year I took the Real Estate class but did not get state certified because I realize my passion was on the investment side and I have a great income to start with. So far I have purchased my first property which is the home I live in. My intentions since day one were to turn it into a rental which meant not looking for the “perfect house for my family”. That will come down the road and who knows maybe no mortgage on it. I have a beautiful fiancé and daughter which are my biggest supporters. Our short term goal is to build enough cash flow for my fiancé to not work (hospitality field in Naples) and help me manage the properties (educating her now). We want to accomplish this in the next 7 years (buy and hold). I am confident in my abilities to make this happen sooner and I am a huge numbers guy. If it does not make sense I move on. I feel like this is getting long. So in closing I am excited to meet fellow investors in and out of the Florida area. I think this is a great community in which I have been lurking for a year on and now I want to be a part of the talk. I will do my best to add value where I can and slow down to listen to your advice.
