this is the same thing I am going through. seems like the best thing to do is talk to a lawyer and maybe they can lead you into the right direction. I need to ready up more about this situation. hopefully I can talk to a attorney when I get back to the states

Fellow BPer/wichitans,

I am starting out in REI and I purchased my first rental property. I am looking to do a rent-to-own with my tenants but I am having trouble finding an attorney that can draft a contract. I tried calling a few people off of craigslist that are doing rent-to-own but I got no answer. Does anyone have a recommendation for an attorney i can get a hold of? preferable in the Wichita area. Thank you in advanced.

@Adam Treece

The timeline you laid out with your goals is awesome. I am also stationed in Japan. Ill be here for another 4 years and to see someone making progress is very motivating. I plan on purchasing a property sometime this year. Keep up the good work!

Hello everybody! I hope you are enjoying the holidays. I am 25 years old looking into REI while serving in the military. Since I am stationed overseas for another 4 years and I don't know where I will get stationed next, naturally I'll gravitate to my hometown Wichita Kansas. My disposition is to invest for passive income, but am open to other options. it seems like achieving financial independence through rental properties seems like a good start. I do not own any property as of right now and would like to learn anything I can from you.

Thanks,

Jimmy Dang
