To mirror what Dan mentioned, definitely check the REIN Facebook group. Each and every day people are getting recommendations for things like this from some of the most experienced investors in Nashville and surrounding areas. Also, many contractors and handy men are active on the page as well.

@Jacob Short it sounds like you are on the right track! Also, it seems like you have a day job that may benefit you both short term and long term in the real estate investing world. Take advantage of that!

Welcome to BP @Jack Montague! Come check out some of the networking events around Nashville and you will meet plenty of people who you can help. There is a DEALS, DEALS REIN class on the 16th and there is a BP investor meetup at Crow's Nest on the 23rd. Feel free to PM if you would like more info.

@Tim Bergstrom love the big goals for 2018! I would be happy to meet and see how we could help each other out. I am about to start work on a flip in Chattanooga with a partner, and all three of those markets are good. Let's set something up man!

I would definitely look into the Murfreesboro and Madison area!

@James English I am in negotiation on a duplex in North Nashville (house hack) but I have been driving Murfreesboro looking for potential properties. The potential flip with a partner is in Chattanooga. How about yourself?

Hey @Erin Elam,

I don't know if this will help, but try adding Music & Money or Seth Mosley in the search for the video. He was here a couple weeks ago for an event hosted by that group and I know he hung in Seth's music studio for a while, maybe that is what the window behind him was. Hopefully this helps you!

Great post @Erik Cabral. I have really been thinking about this lately and trying to narrow it down so I can focus.

1. Acquire 10 cash flowing properties (10x right?)

2. Partner on at least 2 flips.

3. Continue to grow my network throughout 2018 and help out as many people as I can along the way.

I believe that simply writing your goals down can add so much value and that accountability can make the difference in failure or success. Currently have an offer out for a duplex and a potential partner for a flip, so hopefully I can hit the ground running.

Here's to a great year!

Cory,

To echo what everyone else has said, definitely join REIN and the other groups mentioned and attend as much as your schedule allows. The Nashville REI community is fantastic, and it is easy to find people willing to help with whatever question/problem you may have. Being a contractor with an investing mindset will give you a huge advantage.

Good luck with everything, look forward to meeting you!
