@Vidal Preciado - I am going thru the same thing here (on Oahu).  The cost of homes are so expensive.  Of course I would love to house hack but those are hard to find and would definitely be over $1M (at least).  I guess I need to figure out my end goal and work backward like @Steve Rozenberg suggested.  Good Luck!  and keep your fingers crossed for me!

I am here on Oahu too trying to invest out of state. It pretty overwhelming but I know we can do it!!  I am currently reading David Greene's book - 'Long Distance Real Estate Investing' - it really gives a lot of info.
