@James Wise

Believe it or not but I took to heart some of the things you mentioned on the Podcast.  It really hit home and you did a great job of providing advice without "popping your own collar" as in, "look at how good I am."  Your humility and common sense approach is extremely welcome... we wish you continued success.

@Bret Burkett, welcome to the BP family! This place is fantastic and though I'm a bit new to it also, I've come to realize how important and essential this place is to my development.  Good luck to you and drive hard!

@Erica Nagle

Excellent story and great that you are sharing it for others! Well done!

@Jarrod Rayner

I'll simply add something that I was unaware of the second time I used VA for a personal residence: the VA Funding fee goes up, substantially (from 2.15% to 3.3%). Substantially for me due to the market I was buying in and I'm not versed in your new duty station's price point for what you are looking to invest in. So it may or may not affect you much because as they say here on BP: a Deal, is a Deal, is a Deal (even with a 3.3% additional). Good luck brother!

@Luci Oller

Welcome to Bigger Pockets, the place to be whether you are starting out or have been doing it for a while!  That house across the street really does sound like an optimum project for starting out. Good luck with the project and keep us posted.

@Travis Lloyd, thanks for that suggestion. Honestly had not thought of it.  We'll see where this project takes us.

@Krystian Sosinski, it's in Tallahassee, FL.

@Matt Slakey, was thinking of going AirBnB because I'd have to bring the family.  Otherwise, I'd just stay in one of the rooms temporarily.

@Andrew Davis& @Jeff Greenberg, there is definitely something going on behind the scenes I have to investigate.

Thanks for your input everyone!

I also think that I need to be quite a bit more intimately involved in the numbers and the situation because as @Christopher Telles mentioned, this is a 10K foot view and without more detail, we're really just playing "hypotheticals."
