Atma, sounds like a tough spot. Review your contract carefully, in my experience there is usually a clause where either party can initiate a termination of the relationship with written notice.

Great idea Chaz, always good to show your appreciation. I think you are right, the monetary value is irrelevant, it's the gesture that will make the most impact. Maybe you can get her a gift basket of lotions and stuff like that, or a coffee.. You'll have to pay close attention over the next couple weeks to see what she likes.
