With some of the amazing speakers we have had recently, we have had a TON of new faces join the Lake Norman Real Estate Network (THANK YOU!!!). We are super excited to have Ashley Class as our speaker this month! After growing up around construction and real estate investing and renovating and owning long term rentals of her own, Ashley transitioned her rental strategy to short term rentals as a way to create an experience for the customer based off of her learnings, while also keeping her passion for design at heart. Soon, she realized there a huge need in creating an experience for the guest (in addition to a clean and comfy place to stay). After hosting both short term and midterm rentals, Ashley transitioned her strategy to staging and managing 80+ rentals in the Charlotte, NC area. Today with her team, Ashley has designed and consulted with over 100+ hosts nationally to improve their short term and midterm rentals.

Ashley will be talking about how to capitalize on the mid-term rental market (especially here in Charlotte where it is BOOMING), what to look for when analyzing a mid-term deal, and how to maximize enjoyment for your guest and profit for you! I don't know about you, but it seems like the media is saying that the real estate market is going to crash on a daily basis... and whether you believe it or not, as real estate professionals it is so important to stay up to date on what's ACTUALLY going on in the market (especially in our micro-market) to educate ourselves and our clients. This month's topic is going to help you do just that: A 2023 Market Update – Is a Real Estate Crash Really Coming?

We are very excited to have Bryan Maddex as our speaker this month. Bryan has been lending since 1997 and has lent almost $1 Billion in mortgages. He and his team have helped over 1000 clients in just the last few years and ranked in the top 1% of lenders across the nation. He brings a unique perspective of retail banking, mortgage lending, and is also a real estate investor with 6 short term rentals and a check book self directed IRA. Bryan has been a vendor member of the Metrolina REIA since 2013 and has presented at a number of REIA's and Meetup groups including Upstate Carolinas REIA (Greenville), Virginia Beach REIA, South FL Reia.

Bryan will be talking about the potential of a real estate crash in 2023 as well as where current interest rates are and where they are headed this year and how you can take advantage of this market for both you and your clients. We are very excited to have Carrie Lique as our speaker this month! Carrie is a Real Estate Attorney at McNaught and Clements, PLLC in the Lake Norman and Mooresville offices. She is also a licensed attorney in the state of Florida. After graduating law school in 2007, Carrie was selected as one of the youngest women to serve on the Mecklenburg County Bar Association Board of Directors for a 3-year term. She has been a licensed attorney for 15 years and her primary focus has been real estate transactions.

Carrie will be diving into laws, procedures, and popular legal topics that real estate professionals need to know. We will be covering topics such as when and how to use certain contract clauses (and the cautions with doing so), changes in real estate law coming down the pipeline, and things you probably should/should not be doing in your business 🫣
