The Lake Norman Real Estate Meetup is Wednesday, January 19th, at 6:30 pm and we will be meeting in person at Sabi Asian Bistro in Davidson (Exit 30) at 130 Harbour Place Drive, Davidson, NC 28036!

We are kicking the new year off with a topic that is essential to all of our businesses - funding our deals! This month, we have Tommy Whiteside from Lima One Capital coming to speak with us! Lima One Capital was founded in 2011 to serve real estate investors in need of capital. Since then, Lima One has expanded to a national footprint with a team of over 200 in-house professionals who oversee day-to-day operations and funds over $1 billion annually.Tommy has been helping investors finance single and multifamily investment properties since 2017. He has been involved in numerous transactions since then including financing single family rehabs, ground up construction, rental portfolios and more. During his tenure at Lima One, he helped grow the wholesale and correspondent sales channels before moving to the company’s national Business Development team in Charlotte, NC. Prior to joining Lima One, Tommy graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC with degrees in Business Administration and German Studies.

This month's Lake Norman Real Estate Meetup is Wednesday, July 21st at 6:30 pm and we will be meeting in person at Sabi Asian Bistro in Davidson (Exit 30) at 130 Harbour Place Drive, Davidson, NC 28036!

This month we are excited to have Ryan Herting from I Fund Cities joining us. Ryan is a serial entrepreneur, seasoned investor, and real estate lender looking to shake things up in the real estate industry. In addition to his extensive real estate portfolio consisting of multiple asset classes, Herting has scaled many successful startups. Currently, he is the Co-founder and CEO of I Fund Cities, an alternative lending company born from the desire to provide investors with reliable capital and a lending experience that’s all about speed, transparency, and partnership.

I Fund Cities was built by investors for investors and they get that dealing with lenders can sometimes not be a pleasant experience. They focus more on hustle, grit, and creative thinking, rather than suit and tie. Their goal is to be your “partner,” there for you to relate to, lean on, and learn from no matter what issue may arise during the course of your deal. IFC has made big waves in the world of real estate investing by providing a full-service private lending platform with a focus on fix and flips 1-4 units, new construction 1-4 units, small multifamily, and long-term investor rental loans.

Ryan will be discussing what the lending process looks like with them, how they differentiate themselves by building relationships with their investors, how they help you analyze your deals, and more!

Since tax season is upon us, we thought this month it would be beneficial to live stream with one of the best real estate CPAs available – Brandon Hall. Brandon is a Certified Public Accountant, national speaker, and is the Managing Partner of The Real Estate CPA. Brandon works with real estate investors, syndicates, and private equity funds to optimize tax positions and streamline accounting and business functions. He believes that real estate investing is critical to building sustainable and generational wealth. Brandon worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young prior to launching his own CPA firm, Hall CPA PLLC (The Real Estate CPA). He is a regular within the BiggerPockets community and was a featured guest on the BiggerPockets podcast #196 as well as more recently on show #269 with Amanda Hon. Through the knowledge gained by working with real estate investors, he also invests in multi-family and single-family rentals.

If you attended our last meeting, you know it was an incredibly informative meeting about both obtaining and lending private money. One of the most-asked questions we received after the meeting was how we created the credibility packets we shared. We provide credibility packets to our lenders, contractors, agent partners, buyers, and sellers that tell them who we are, what the process of working with us looks like, and how they can benefit from working with us. We have received a lot of interest in learning how to create these, so this month our meeting will be workshop-style on creating a credibility packet. We will share with you the basic framework for creating a general packet for your business. Make sure to bring a laptop or notebook and pen to follow along! Please also let us know below if you plan to make it or not so we can get a rough idea of how many notes to print out.
