Hi Stephan! Welcome to Bigger Pockets! Akron, OH has definitely come up as one of the emerging markets in the last 3-4 years I would say mostly because there have been some big projects happening in the city. @Zach Lemaster from Rent to Retirement offer a lot of inventory in that market and with very competitive rents. I would definitely reach out to them and at least have a conversation since you are considering Akron.

If you have any questions on just purchasing in Cleveland or Akron, feel free to connect with me as well and I would love to chat.

Hi Harris, I have found value investing in Cleveland, OH because it is home to Cleveland Clinic, lot of good neighborhoods, landlord friendly laws, stable appreciation and good cash flowing properties. There are also abundant opportunities for small multi family and SFH. I have been able to scale up to 12 doors in 2 years so definitely recommend this area. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss.

Hi @AnnMarie Bacchus The BRRRR strategy is definitely very appealing as a starting out investor and it might take a while to find your 1st deal but once you get a grip of all the steps, it gets easier. Having said that, I wanted to bring forward the recent change in the cash out refinance rules where you will have to wait 6 months to 12 months. This is just one of the challenges in the current market.

Long distance Real estate investing is my favorite strategy and I would love to connect and see if I can add value to your goals. Feel free to reach out.

Quote from @Cody Tossava:

Hi everyone, my name is Dakota Tossava and I have recently been spending my time reading books on sales/real estate investing.  If anyone would be so kind as to point me to the resources that helped them accelerate their timeline/gain knowledge + increase skills, please do.  Any and all resources would be helpful.   Also, I would love to network and have a bigger circle of like-minded individuals (mentors, potential partners, accountability partners, etc.).  I’m Not looking to get rich quick and I am willing to do the work necessary.  As a lot of great investors say, “to get where you want to go, learn from someone who has already gotten there.”  Thank you all in advance for your responses and help.

Cheers,

Dakota

Hi @Pablo Valles If you want to explore investing out of state, then feel free to reach out. There are a lot of midwest markets where the purchase price is not high but you get close to $400-500 in cash flow per month. Lets chat if you have some time in the coming week.
