id like to build connections with fellow investors and investor friendly real estate agents. Will be looking to scale relatively quickly as well

if anyone is willing to talk me through the Cleveland area or what I should expect and what to go for! That would be amazing. At the very least I’d like to connect and network with people within the srea

    Why moving to Cleveland? Is your main goal to house-hack or are you looking to do BRRRR?

     The goal is to house hack! However I do want to build quite the portfolio and dabble in other strategies but I’ve done the most research on house hacking! I’m open to other strategies, not at the very beginning though. Not without knowledge/experience

    Hi Clarence, welcome to the BiggerPockets community! I'm excited to hear about your real estate journey. I started with a house hack myself when I moved from Portland OR to Columbus OH. Purchased my own rentals and grew my portfolio to over 7 figures. You might also want to consider the Columbus market. Happy to connect and answer any questions you may have.

    @Clarence Harvey

    Cleveland is a popular market for real estate investors, especially those planning house hacking, rentals, and BRRRR strategies. The affordable housing market and diverse neighborhoods make it easy to enter. For house hacking, consider multi-family properties or single-family homes with additional units. Leverage FHA or conventional loans with low down payments.

    Good luck!

     Thank you! I do appreciate the information

    Are DSCR Loans a good idea in this area ? ( Cleveland ) I'd like to see how others are gaining properties so quickly instead of saving up 20% each time.
    what are my options to avoid having to save up 20% each time for a down payment

    I personally love the Cleveland market for its cash flow. I invest heavily in this area as an agent. I grew up on the east side of the town with a well versed knowledge of the neighborhood. I am happy to send you my neighborhood grade map to help you get started. Let me know how I can help Clarence!

    DSCR loans are a popular choice for investors in Cleveland, as the real estate market is reasonably priced. These loans are based on the cash flow provided by the property, allowing investors to rapidly build their portfolios without substantial down payments. They also make it easier to qualify for investors who own many homes or are self-employed. Some DSCR loans allow for larger leverage, lowering the down payment need. Other alternatives to save 20% each time include seller financing, partnerships, hard money loans, house hacking, portfolio loans, and private money lenders. Each choice has its own set of risks and benefits, so it's critical to consider your financial status, investing goals, and Cleveland market opportunities before deciding on the best strategy.

    Good luck!
