I plan to be moving back to Ontario in the next 1-2 years and will be looking to enter the real estate market; leaning towards a buy-hold-rent kind of deal at least for the first few houses I look at.

I'm leaning towards Zillow, since we only have one property, but can be convinced otherwise.  

One more vote for Indianapolis -- it is consistently on the top ten lists for best places to invest and so convenient for you to drive a couple of hours to not only make sure you are making a good purchase but also to keep an eye on your existing rentals. 

I am leaning more on the side of creating an LLC for the asset protection, but also because in the immediate future I will be investing with non-spousal partners.

I’ve been leaning toward doing the 4 unit in Chicago and forcing appreciation to increasing rents as tenants move but wanted to get other opinions.

I live in Wears Valley because it's the most convenient place to be while still providing great access to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg (where I work every day).
