Also one tip I recommend is setting a keyword alert for “buffalo”, so you get a notification when someone posts about the area.

I know generally how they work but I'm wondering how I can prepare myself to participate and if folks have any must-know tips?

I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually start investing any time soon since I don't have a ton of money saved up and don't have a permanent job, but I'd love to start as soon as I possibly can, so if you guys have any tips for me I'd love to hear them!
