You can't own a trust, because its designed to be its own organization that owns assets like your moms property. your mom doesnt own it now, the trust does.

One of our clients bought a park that was empty of homes, had a swimming pool filled with dirt, and a trashed club house for a bargain that some other organization had bought for what they thought was a "higher use" and gave up because of the cost of ripping out the pads, the electric, the gas, and the water supplies and sanitary lines.

I have family in the city and looked a couple of years ago when out visiting, but found the market to be inflated - though I was amazed how much the city has grown regardless.I would think you will need to some hard due diligence to find good deals in the City itself.
