I've used Venmo to collect rent when I didn't have an LLC but my new tenant likes to just go to my bank and make the deposit which is fine. 

The info and resources here are (fantastically) overwhelming, updates would be a great idea.

Hey, I am new to this real estate thing and looking into the purchasing a duplex or tri to live in one unit and rent out the others as well...Does anyone on here perhaps have any good resources as far as where do I learn about a couple of things?

The logic is that we collect rent no matter what for 12 months after signing the lease, understandable.

My advice to a real estate newbie would be to capitalize on all of the free resources this site has available at your disposal.

I just filed my articles of organization yesterday so this is all very new.If someone could point me to a good resource for figuring all of this stuff out that would be great.  

For example, a 2BR might get $800-$900 from a market tenant and you have to collect the full amount.
