Newbie from NKY (Fort Thomas) / Cincinnati

Hi All, 

I'm new to the Bigger Pockets world, and real estate investing in general, but I"m excited to be here learning from the site and all of you. I grew up in CA, but have lived out here for about 7 years now. I currently work in Market Research, and am interested in investing in single family/small multi-family (2-4 unit) rentals in the area (close enough that I can hopefully manage them myself). I have always loved real estate and would spend lots of bonding time with my dad, driving around wherever we happened to be, looking at houses, playing "guess the price" on the for sale ones, and dreaming about owning this or that, or having a rental here or there. I don't know why it never occurred to me to explore this until a month ago. But here I am! 

I would love to connect with other newbies just starting out as well as seasoned investors who are living their dream. There is a sense of camaraderie here that is already apparent reading through the boards that I look forward to being a part of. I am currently looking through the boards trying to find an investor friendly real estate agent in Cincinnati, though preferably licensed in KY as well, so I'm obviously still early in the process of trying to find the right team members. I welcome any anecdotal tales of how you all found the team members you currently work with. I find that recommendations are so much more satisfying than trying someone out at whim, and often much more beneficial to all involved.
