Your comparison is the cost of an idle unit now vs. the cost of reset in two months.

I just used hotels as my comparison on amenities, conveniences and prices.

I did some comparisons with other properties in the area and it's on par with what's available. 

Not all states/counties make the info public, but if you are in a state that does so, you can go to the county website the property of interest is located in, usually by their GIS system, and find what properties sold nearby to use as a comparison. 

I just don't think the land makes enough in comparison to getting a real estate business started that could scale much faster and be worth much more a decade from now and provide additional cash flow for our family. 

I am curious why new homes are much cheaper in comparison with other neighborhoods that are much farther east from the bridge (such as Walnut Creek or Dublin or Pleasanton).

Then there was the whole sequence of massive law suits resulting in the new tax code adjustments which were only finalized in 96. 

Since then the experience is even worst in comparison to OP no communication going on, always refering to the mystical Field manager who never cals back.

Certainly can adjust the purchase/offer price, but that gives me a simple, internal comparison to consider.

@Jeffrey HolstLooks like the comparison between value and rent isn't as strong as I thought.I found an older thread that referenced this site... https://www.deptofnumbers.com/rent/My area shows really no correlation between the 2 from 2006 and 2012.
