We stuck a sign in the yard and when someone called we went running (we live within 5 minutes) to show the property.This time I am taking a more educated and organized approach.Here's what I have set up so far and keep tweaking as I go along.1.Set up a Google Voice # specifically for the rental - includes a brief description of the property as well as requirements if I don't pick up the call2.

We had to rebuild a shed and only way to replace siding on property line side was go into their yard to do it.

The same situation applies if they choose to not cooperate with you and don't maintain the yard, etc.I'm sure you can come up with a backup plan for all of these situations though.

Planting a yard sign is a great idea if your objective is to alert and alienate an owner or their family but not appropriate for most situations.Road kill (and dead oar fish) might be easy to find but not good for eating.

Some have steps off the back door that go into the front yard of the next home, but this hasn't been a problem, since everyone appears to use their front door.
