I just ordered 20 reports from a company and they missed on 2 (10% error rate) property sold at tax sale.Of course their “fine print” states they will only insure $1500 which I should of picked up that any company that has to stipulate a minimum coverage and not honor an errors and omissions clause for what the loss is, was a big red flag.

If the stipulation is that owner needs to live on premises, since an ADU would be a part of the primary residence, whether it is attached or not as it's on the same lot, I don't know that for the purpose of Short Term (Vacation) Rental it will make a difference, and seems it should be allowed.
