The stuff that sold at auction was primarily undeveloped land in unpleasant or rural areas.I would imagine in this current market, there are even more people looking to buy at tax sales than in 2009 and so I would be interested to hear if anyone has encountered success and found hidden gems this way.

Nevada, Utah, Arizona and SE California are also great places for buying unwanted land.This might be a great place to start on a really tight budget or a great place to start if you have bigger pockets than the rest of us.Good luck, friend.

I wouldn't feel comfortable giving out my account numbers as this lead to something unwanted in the future.Depending on the bank you may be able to have the tenant deposit into your account by simply giving them your name.

With land, you don't need much capital to start, you simply have to find the properties that are unwanted such as properties of a dead relative which have been collecting unpaid back taxes, or land that has been unattended for years and people don't even realize they still have it.
