I tried to transfer money to an LLC; a thing that a solo 401k does very well and is a "bread and butter" sort of transaction for a solo 401k.

Hi Rob -  Indy's my home and I'm most familiar with it but my current business runs me from Anderson-Muncie all the way down to Mooresville, and I see equal opportunities in those smaller towns due to the blue-collar environment and bread and butter SFHs.

Just like the 3/2/2 is the bread and butter of suburban homes, the 5 year term, 20 year amm loan is the bread and butter of commercial loans.  

In my opinion, both have their pluses and minuses, neither is 100% superior to the other, and I think a prudent investor has both in a well balanced portfolio (in addition to public stock market holdings as well).My single-family rentals are my bread-and-butter and make up the core of my real estate portfolio.
