You can get a residential loan non commercial through a bank or mortgage lender however the guidelines are more strict and more based on you the borrower as opposed to being mainly based on the asset and it's potential performance.

Because in that discussion, the tenant who doesn't make a living through the property is just a peasant serf expected to work the land for his lord or be whipped for laziness, give his his bride to his lord on his wedding night, and drop dead swinging a hoe or pickax in the lord's fields.

I would say multiplex non commercial rentals probably make more sense in areas that typically have higher costs for SFHs.

I have a personal policy that covers both subsidence/sinkhole and earthquake, but I haven't found a non-commercial policy that covers both of these perils for investment properties.Thanks for any help with questions or info on changes to insurance policies in TN.Ralph D.

If you're talking non-commercial properties, then banks tend to only allow 4 mortgages.
